are there any restrictions on the 16 year old driver?
or is he equal to law as all the other drivers.

you not need to be 17 to drive?
well I am not familiar with UK laws.
Ok, when you are 17 do you have any restrictions you have to obey?
In the Uk after you've passed your test then you cannot teach some one else to drive(ie sit in with a learner driver) for 2 years.
Your insurance will be sky high.It doesn't come down to a laughable level until your in your mid thirties.
Other than that i cannot think of any restrictions on a 17 year that all the rest of us have'nt got.
the reason I asked was, I heard some countries had restriction on the top speed newbies can drive. Somewhere at 60mph. Maybe its not such a bad restriction afterall. Young drivers drive very irresponsible, I know I did. And When I turned 23, I started driving like your grandma, 20-30 in the city. I drive slowly and carefully, which is the only way that looks reasonable to me now ;-) Well in the city anyways.
SO I guess some limitations to young driver for the first 3-5 years is wellcomed, what do you think?
I think anyone under 50 should not be allowed to drive, then the roads would be much quieter for me!
theres a 6 point scheme for newly passed drivers, if they accumulate 6 penaly points then they lose their license and have to retake their test, after 1 or 2 years (not sure which) they hold a 12 point license.
new drivers have limitations on how big a vehicle they can drive and using a trailer,i believe some of the scottish islands you can drive at 16,and if you are registered disabled you can drive at 16
Or drive a 3 wheeler at 16.
