Pain in the rear to do mate. Just had my missus' one the other day. Got a mate to do it as I was at work. Took him 3 hours toremove old one and refit new one.

It failed, as the pulley spun, but was not turning the alternator internally, as the clutch mechanism had gone. Caught me out on the A1 in the outside lane

ive just taken the alternator off, took 2 hours and had to mess about with wiring loom "holder" connected to the engine, and took out the fuel line holder as well,

its a denso 105amperage alternator, ive been quoted 133 for a new one if i hand in the old one, is this a good deal?

Seems a good deal. I paid Euro Car Part £198 for a brand new one (130amp). Non exchange. Sold faulty one for £40

Yep, good deal that matey! Just be 100% sure it is the 105A you are getting. I just banged on the first one I saw at a good price and it is the wrong amperage so get the car and spanner and a fault code Tech2 was struggling to read!

What is the name of the company doing it for that price?

its a local company andrew watts in glasgow

the thing is, i could order the part online for 110 delivered without handing my old one, but it will take 2 days roughly to arrive by courier and i can't wait that long unfortunately as it's a vehicle i use for working, so as soon as i fit it i will be hitting the road if you know what i mean
