    Default Tuning a 2007 Signum 2.8T V6 Elite

    Hi guys, im new hear.

My reason for joining is that I will soon be buying a 2007 2.8T signum elite. I do like plenty of vooom and as such I want to know what I can do to make this signum quicker and nippier handling that what it already is.

I know I can have it remapped which gives a fairly large power increase, but what else can ai have done to it without making it look like a chav machine with a wheelie bin for a exhaust.

Panel filter, spark plugs, coilovers etc?

    Help me out please guys!

    Cheers

    Tom

    Welcome to the forum...

A remap will give you more bhp and torque .. By completing this a uprated panel filter / Vxr air box mod and hotter iridium plugs will give you circa 280bhp

Soulman has fitted uprated springs to his elite and a sports exhaust system

And it sits low and sounds superb

I've kept mine oem/irmscher and I consider it more of a sleeper

Lots more options starting to appear have a search on Signum 2.8 within the forum and in the garage section too

And if you think it goes well now ... Wait till its mapped

    Cheers,

I am assuming I should replace the plugs, panel filter and do the airbox mod BEFORE getting it mapped?

Exhaust system is a maybe, all depends how much more performance it will get me.

Handling and braking is pretty important to me as I live out in the sticks with lots of windy roads....

So I suppose either getting coilovers or just replacing the shocks and springs would be a nice upgrade to stop body roll etc? At the same time, lower it by say 30mm.

The map will work on standard fittings BUT the costs to replace the other parts makes sense to change either before or at the time of the remap

The exhaust may give you 5-10 bhp max ... So mines remained standard.

Handling wise if ou changed to bilsteins you will notice a dramatic improvement
B12's are available it will lower roughly 30mm but the handling difference will be dramatic I had 6's fitted to my 2.0t Signum with eibach pro springs ... Cornering speeds changed by upto 30 mph and gave real confidence in the cars ability

This is the one suspension upgrade I would consider for my 2.8

Remember the Signum in standard guise is a comfortable motorway cruiser .. Uprated will make mincemeat of smaller hotter hatchbacks and leaves them scratching their heads on what just happened

This is the sort of thing your looking for on suspension

Mines running a bluefin map from a handheld tuner ...so you can put the map in and remove at your whim

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Superchips...-/180625927179

Ebay is your friend ... Lmfvauxhall are also pretty good for parts too as is carpartsconnexions for most parts that may also come up

Keep your eyes peeled for some Vxr front callipers 345mm and ancillaries
These will help slow you down a little quicker

    Cheers for that.

The bluefin map sounds like a neat idea with the handheld device.

So far I will be doing the following, almost immediately after buying the car.

    Hotter iridium spark plugs
Airbox Mod (I will make it a second cold air feed, rather than just a hole)
    Bluefin Remap

Then I shall do the following a little later on:

    Uprated sport shocks and springs
    New Wheels (18" probably)
Bigger brakes. Possibly VXR ones if I can find some.

+ 1 for the Bulefin unit matey. I also had one fitted to my Siggy 2.8T and regularly got over 280bhp on power runs. I also had NGK Irridiums, K and N filter and VXR280 air box mod to mine. Cracking cars mate, you won't be dissapointed. Also to add a note, you'll be able to smoke 06 reg Porsche Boxters away from them lights as well once mapped lol.
