my dad got a bbr star chip in his old 2.0 8v astra. It made quite a bit of difference to the drivability and they also give you the old chip back so it can be replaced in 10 mins. But 350 quid is alot of money for only a 22bhp rise. I dont think i could justyfy it myself. But he's had no probs with it in the last 8 years he's had it in.

well, nearly everyone drives a vx here (apart from a few absconders who have downgraded to the Saab)
best ask this one over at the beemer forum

quiet note: beemers are great, i used to have an E30 325i which was a classic drive. 3 series is too big now.

Sorry for a stupid question, but what does E30 mean?

I'd say the cost/increase ratio isn't half bad actually - especially given that it's a normally aspirated engine. My brother had a BBR chip on his Volvo 440 Turbo that he had many years ago and that worked well with no problems.

I'd say go for it m8.

Isn't it just the model of 3 series like ther is a vectra b then a vectra c there is an e30, e36. I think

As for the remap I would say any decent power hike is worth the fee, and you'll definetely notice the power so I'd get it.

Its not just the power. It will feel a whole lot more driveable too. No flat spots etc. I'll say do it!

E30 is the Model of the BMW. IMO the E30 was the best looking Convertable car ever made.

As for the cost vs power gain's, dont think its that bad, i wouldnt have any major issues with £350 for 22bhp
