England need to realise that they aren't a great team and it's always the same song we hear, were going to win it this year just like 1966, but never think twice about qauly. It's good to see them brought down a level and realise they aren't the great team they think they are.

Hey VV, I'd have thought an experienced poster like you would have not taken any notice of the sad muppets. Always a sign of an inferiority complex when all you can do is knock other peolpes performances. I always remember that I would rather be English and lose at sport than be Jock or Paddy.

I do believe of late that the England team have behaved as if they were unbeatable, particularly the midfielders, and it's about time such overpaid under-performing prima donnas got their come-uppence. Never mind crucifying Steve with the Scottish name who managed them, they simply did not do the business and never lived up to the hype they obviously believed. We still have a long way to go before we emulate the glory boys of '66. And no point in just blaming the goalkeeper like in '76/'77 when we failed to qualify for the World Cup, sure he had a shocker but so did nearly everyone else.

And VV it's about expectations. The Scots exceeded theirs. Enough said. They are at least playing better as a team than we have lately, and deserved to qualify more than we did. Shoot, even the Northern Irish came closer than we did. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
