Parts for 120,000 km service

Hi All. I need to order parts for my 2003 Vectra 3.2 V6 with the Z32SE engine for its 120,000 km service (the big one, where the timing belt and pulleys, water pump etc need to be replaced). I am going to buy the parts on-line 'cause we get ripped-off blind here in Australia. For example, I was quoted over A$830 (around £400) for a timing belt kit that I can buy from the UK for under £100. I am hoping someone on the forum can tell me whether the tensioner pulley comes with the kit, or whether I need to buy that separately. And any other tips will be much appreciated. Thanks a lot in anticipation.

Contact the seller and make sure first
They are typically sold separately; a cambelt only OR a cambelt kit

Thanks, M8. I will check. The kit definitely includes some pulleys, but maybe not the tensioner. That looks bigger than the other pulleys. Also, can anyone offer advice on the quality of the aftermarket belts and kits? They are quite a bit cheaper, but I wouldn't want to blow up my engine 'cause of some crap belt.

you need a good quality belt kit S.as you say cheap can cost you a fortune in the future.gaites made in france are a very respected alternative to original belts but don't skimp for the sake of a few pounds

I used an aftermarket kit for my 60k service, saved $1200 doing it myself (was quoted $1500 to do the replacement!). Quality if the kit was top notch, I think it was an SKF kit.

Hi, Here is a sample of whats available over here - cost around GBP 140 although this seller has 25% off everything at the moment. This is a Conti Tech make which is a good make - they also do the SKF but that is out of stock at the moment and is about GBP20 more

The vauxhall belts / kits are made by Gates. Buy the Gates branded ones - they are cheaper than the GM ones but exactly the same (just different packaging).
