    Hi all,

I didn't realise when I ordered my Vectra that I could have the IDS+ option Is this something that could be retro fitted at some point in the future? The car has all the other toys so should have a pretty good loom?

    Thanks, Rich

What's IDS? I grew up in Wokingham by the way, live outside Oxford now.

Interactive Driving System Plus. Fancy name for Electronically controlled dampers, whereby dampers can be selectively adjusted automatically . Something to do with yaw angle compensation and ride height adjustment to minimise body pitch and roll, all way too technical for me. Ian_c's got it on his I500, for one.

Would like to fit the whole lot including the dampers, sport button etc. How much work would be involved? This is a bit of a project for the future

It'll be £££££££&#163 ; to retro-fit and possibly not even possible. Needs a different steering rack for starters and too many components/looms etc. to mention. Not sure if it'd need a different variant of ECU as well.

Good luck if you try it, but prepare for obstacles/disappointments/wallet emptying in the process.

Yikes, sounds scary for a £450 option. I guess it's easy when the car is being built

I've got IDS+ and it's great. Does wonders on corners and bumpy roads. Wouldn't like to try and retrofit it there's loads of extra sensors on top of the dampers for startes and I suspect extra looms too as Duncan said, plus a guru on a tech2 would be needed.

Think Big Pete has it too???

Alright, don't rub it in If only I'd seen that tick box, didn't think it was an option on the Vectra!!! Used to drive my Astra with the sport button on all the time!
