Dodgy fuel pumps on 2.2 direct engines?

Apparently, the fuel pump on 2.2 litre Vectra Cs is dodgy. This affects at least 05 plates onwards, and only Z22YH engines - or so the man at the garage and on vvoc.com says.

Vauxhall are replacing mine under warrenty (sweet - it's 800 quid plus otherwise!). Anybody else had/heard this?

I bought my second 2.2 direct last month. It's a late 2004 (54 plate) and it had a faulty fuel pump and regulator replaced in February this year.

tbh when i read the repair form in the cars wallet that was when i found out about them having fault pumps........

Yeah, my fuel pump failed within the first two weeks after purchase, car kept going dead every few miles. Had the pump replaced under warrenty, had no problems since. It's likely to be the most common fault/gripe 2.2 owners will encounter.

Yep - mine's been waiting for a fuel pump for 4 weeks now! I've even been on the phone to General Motors customer services! They can't give any indication of a delivery date. It could be days, it could be months.
Vauxhall HQ are sending out the new fuel pumps, but they are currently being allocated to the new Vectras.

expect a lengthy wait.

I had a 04 plate company car. It was the first of the 2.2 Direct's. The fuel packed up after about 18 months.
