    Cool Returning to Opel

    Hi,

Göran from Sweden, just bought a Vectra C 2.2 built 2002-11.

I learned to drive in my parents Opel Kadett (the name in Sweden a couple of decades ago, don't know of international variations) and have also used the Vectra my dad bought later a lot. Since then I've kept mostly to BMW both in bikes and cars. Now we needed an extra car in the family so I've been looking for an ok car for a low price. What I found, after some visits to both good and bad car dealers, was a 8 year old Vectra C 2.2 automatic. 15,000 metric miles, good interiors and an almost new timing chain (correct term?) for approx ¢45k.

Hope to learn from You all, reading the forum, and, eventually, be able to contribute if I ever gather enough experience from the forum, Haynes-reading and hands on.

    Welcome!
Opel Kadett could be Vauxhall Astra

Also metric miles? do you mean kilometres?
That price sounds good, if it's 15,000km

and timing chain is the correct term

Is that so? You learn something new every day

Around £4300-£4500 I suppose it would be, my estimate from my little experience of Sweden

yeah, that's a lot more than you would pay in the UK haha

yes Swedish miles are way different than anyother mile http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scandinavian_mile

Then try prices in DK.. the same car would probaly still be about 9000-12000£
