Default Rev's rising/falling slightly? DMF Related?

    Hi all,
New on here as of today, picked up the car last night and all was well for a while. Brought it home and was nearly home sitting in traffic at the lights, next thing heard this rattle coming from the car sounded up near my feet. Had a look at the rev's and it was rising and falling slightly? Im pretty sure the DMF is starting to go, typical symptoms with a bit of vibration up near the top of the clutch pedal, that's all going to be sorted this week.

What I am more worried about is the way the revs are rising and falling? anyone any ideas, its only rising slightly maybe not even 100/200 revs but something isn't right there.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Regards,
    Daniel

Air conditioning compressor turning on and off can cause that - was it turned on?

The flywheels can get really bad,had mine stall the engine twice and that was enough for me to get mine replaced, they can get so bad where they can ruin the crankshaft.

Is your car diesel with dpf? Cause everytime my car starts regen the dpf, revs will hunt like that at idle. Also the engine feels a bit rough.

Hopefully the clutch and DMF change will sort it then, still under dealer warranty so may get it done and save my £££

AirCon wasn't switched on at the time.

If alternator was going would it not flicker the lights exterior and interior like the old astra we had? Worth a check though!

Don't know if its the DPF one, its a pre facelift 2005 reg. Any way of checking? Engine feels smooth enough.

    Not all the time.

If ECU sees low voltage it ups idle to compensate then when ok lowers to normal hence fluctuation

Put a multimeter across battery terminals with engine running should be around 14 volts
