newbe tuning question/advise

alright lads, this is my first post as new to this forum

after some info off anyone who can help us out.
the mrs has just bought a 03 vectra 2.2 sri desiel. 50thou miles get it in a week or so.

-what engine model is this?
-what BHP is it? what can it be tuned to?
-best tuning mods? bigger turbo, chipped, or any mods?

You appear to have bought a 2.2 DTI.

They have about 125 bhp.

They are difficult to tune. Tuning boxes etc tend to be very expensive for these and because it is not a common rail diesel, any gains will not be comparable to the later 1.9 models fitted with remaps or tuning boxes.

The turbo isn't a problem, plenty of air is already getting to the cylinders. The problem you have is providing more fuel to burn in them.

Mods you could do are the usual air box mod (basically just rip the plastic trumpet out of the bottom of the airbox), and K&N filter, but as I said before, you already have plenty of air getting to the engine as long as your standard filter has not been left in there since the car was new.

-what BHP is it? what can it be tuned to?123Standard by the book although most tend to be anywhere up to about 135, mine personally has 155BHP
-best tuning mods? bigger turbo, chipped, or any mods? Propper tuning box (steinbauer) EDS re-map and I am looking into getting a hybrid turbo made up for mine
