    Default TMC Announcements

My CD70 only seems to announce when there is "Stationary Traffic Ahead". It doesn't announce anything else.

Is this right? If so, that's a bit pants, in fact not even as good as the old Traffic Master.

I've been through the TMC settings and all alerts are turned on, but as said, I never get warned of them.

In the XK, the TMC warns of any obstruction that is ahead, slow moving traffic, accident etc............

Edit: Forgot to say, this is not part of dynamic guidance, just simply warning me of traffic in advance. Whether I've got a route planned or not.

Trafficmaster (albeit sounded like a bit of a mong was hiding in the glovebox), was great!

The CD70 surely should be doing a similar service. If not, why not? Like I said, the one in the Jag does it. Oh, and she's got a nicer voice than the CD70, but then the CD70 has a much nicer voice than Mongy Trafficmaster.

Looking through the CD70 manual, it does mention about the settings for the alerts is to control the type of "announcement". Hopefully, the upgrade disc will fix this problem.

But can someone else confirm that the CD70 does indeed warn of all TMC events?

    Thanks

Please someone help me. It's driving me mad thinking that I've got something else that's not working correctly.

Does any other CD70 owners have TMC warning announcements?

    Pretty please?

You can scroll through the TMC events but surely unless you have a route planned it doesn't actually know where you are going does it?
Despite the cost of living it still seems popular!

Yes, basically, it works like the Trafficmaster does.

If you are heading in the direction of an "event" it will tell you.

It already tells me if I'm heading in the direction of Stationary Traffic, but I'm sure it should warn of the others too. Like I said, the XK does exactly that.

    if I have a route planned I get all TMC-warnings on the route;
if no route has been planned I can see all alerts (or all the ones you enabled in the settings) on the TMC-map or in a listing (via Info-button)

    So no voice warnings?

That's so pants if it's the case, although the manual does say that if you select the type of incident it enables it for Announcement & Info Display.

Like I said it does warn me of stationary traffic.

Really speaking, it's not a replacement of Trafficmaster which is what it so could of been.

voice warnings on the planned route, yes; others no - she would be talking whole the time if she would announce all traffic problems ; but for that I use TP for the normal traffic announcements over the radio

Strange, as I do get the "critical" warnings when there is stationary traffic on the motorway for instance. Even if I've not got a route planned.
