Default have a still got a problem ???

hi all got my car back yesterday from the garage this is the work they have done

replaced dmf, clutch and slave cylinder
replaced thermostat, inlet manifold with actuator, alternator, battery

everything is fine o checked the car and all parts have been done

i have also blanked my egr valve with one 6mm hole in a blanking plate to keep the sensor happy and all is well and no engine lights

how ever my car still feel as though it lacks a bit of power below 2000rpm then it kicks in also my engine number is 17102488 so should have the modified harness on injector 3

When I had my inlet manifold replaced I too bought one of those egr blanking plate's and found out it made the power naff under 2000rpm so I removed the plate back to standard and it pulls great under 2000rpm now,egr was clean as a whistle and free as a bird to start with

hi guys hope you can help my car is still sluggish below 200rpm and on part throttle it does seem like its missing a bit not sure if this is me being paranoid or its the bumnp roads round here with the sri suspension.

if you read this you will see what i have had done

if the egr is stuck open would it still be hesitant under 2000rpm even with the blanking plate in with two 6mm holes in???

i cant think of anything else that can cause this it does not seem powerfull enough for a 150bhp diesel i know its an estate but my mondeo tdci 130hp estate seemed more powerfull and help please thanks

This sure sounds like the 3rd injector symptoms, being a 2006 I assume yours will have the yellow injector plugs..? For £13 and 30mins, its worth having a look.

Or, as a quick test remove the engine cover, unplug the 3rd (3rd from the left as you stand infront of it) injector wiring plug, spray a little bit of WD40 in there, then connect, disconnect, connect, disconnect a few times and see if that makes a difference, if it does then you will need the new plug.

True, but not till after 2K revs though, upto about 1100-1200 yes, but from there they should be fine, certainly nothing upto 2K revs shows a problem somewhere.

Thats why i asked if he has driven a comparrision. The turbo spools up around 1500rpm? As you say should be fine after that, although they are still lacking somewhat, hence the reason I bought the 3.0 cdti.

No, the turbo spools from about 1100rpm gaining pressure to just over 2K revs, it should be progressive - anything else points to an issue somewhere. I know what you mean though, but one that is running spot on is not lacking to be honest. I can say this as I have spent enough on mine and seen its characteristics change so much to how it is running now
