Thread: cdti(150) got no go below 2000rpm please help

    Default cdti(150) got no go below 2000rpm please help

    hi muckers

    i have a massive problem with my veccy,below 2000rpm there is no pull at all then after turbo kicks in it goes like it should do it has just started to do this ,so i have put some injector cleaner in the fuel tank now so waiting for that to work through. the managment light came on today as well but the spanner/car light came on first then that went out which was replaced by the managment light,the only other things i can think of would be to change the air filter and fuel filter,other than that im lost .
    has anyone local to me (newport south wales )got a diagnostic checker thingy mabob that i could use or is it something more serious,please
    any help would be great and very much appreciated

    Could be your EGR valve, but really need to get the codes read.
    If you've a laptop you can get OP-Com for about £25 off ebay. Its very easy to use and will pay for itself on its first use. Indies charge about £45 and Vx £70 for a diagnostic.

    Have you checked to see if your swirl pot linkage bar hasnt fallen off thats the first thing i would check.

    thought i had sorted it today as i put some injector cleaner in and went for a run left the car then for a few hours to go cold then started it up and it went fine no lumpy start up ,
    then tonight after work started it up and it was so lumpy and wouldnt go above 500rpm accelerator dint respond and there was a burnt smell around .i just kept restarting it until it picked itself up and the strange thing is the management light is off now so i am really lost now

    Its always fine past 2-2.5 because the turbo engages and the EGR shuts. unplug it and if it runs fine then you know its your egr. most ppl get away with the good old tooth brush, splash of break cleaner but sometimes its too late??

    hi mate i had a look this morning and noticed that position 3 and 4 are very loose infact they have come away from the rubber insert in the engine,the problem is now i have heard that you cant buy these and it is a right nightmare to fix aint it and more help would be great
