I did but only southbound fortunatly. I am very surprised the driver of one of the lorrys survived as there was nothing left of it, and I mean nothing from the wheels upwards... was gone.

Sort of caught in it, i ran the HA response and traffic management from the scene. Tried my hardest to get the motorway reopened as fast as we could but it was still shut for quite a while, mostly for the Police to do their investigation, then to recover the vehicles involved. I did get lane 3 open fairly early but recovery needed both the inside lanes to do their stuff.

I arrived when they were still cutting out one of the drivers, neither of them have life changing inujries at the last report though so some good news.

Apologies to residents of Milton Keynes and Towcester, seems it created traffic chaos!! Unfortunately we have to allow investigation work to be carried out and the Police are very thorough.

Yeah, it took me over an hour to get from Towcester to work in MK (rather than 20 mins). The A5 was solid traffic from MK to Towcester too. Interesting to hear the other side of the story, glad no-one was seriously injured.

There've been many, many accidents on the M1 between N'pton and MK over the years. I used to drive M1 J15-14 every morning and say many near misses too. There were 3 multiples, including a fatal in the space of a week a few years back, made the national news. I was caught up 1 mile behind the worst one (about 22 cars as I recall) and spent 3 hours sat waiting for the m'way to reopen. At least I was still alive...

Um... driving too close to the car in front then not watching and/or not being able to stop in time, being blinded by the sun going round one of the bends, having a heart attack, texting on a mobile etc. All been reasons on that stretch over the years...
