    Default Audi Style LED DRL's - Anyone else hate them on other cars?

    First of all !

    These are doing my head in. I have seen so many chav's and wannabe boy racers with the LED strips on their car's and they wind me up rotten.

    Firstly, the light that is emitted is not even the same as the headlight's on the car so it looks cack. Headlight lights are yellowy/whitey and the LED's emit almost blue!

    Secondly, they are absolutely blinding (I guess when not fitted right)! I have seen then fitted in the most hiedeous places and people prefer to use these instead of headlights!!

    Lastly, IMHO, they are designed for an Audi and should stay on an Audi. Simple, like the Lexus lights should be for a Lexus!

    Rant Over, reason was I have just walked past 3 car's with the LED strips!
    - One was an Astra G with X-wing like spoiler;
    - Second was a Micra....WHY and !
    - Third one was a Nissan Primera....once as as above !

    Anyway, whats your thoughts? Anyone else share my crazy passion to banish Audi LED Style DRL's on non-Audi's?

    You could say they're either taking the **** out of Audi's OR they do genuinely think it looks cool.

    Some people have extremely bad taste in car styling, a know a 10 year old that puts exhausts on the front of cars that he draws, simply because he thinks it looks good..... Some people don't mature their tastes as they grow older.

    I'd say they're either a) youngsters with no taste or b) I can't say without seeming racist (Google "leepu cars")

    I was observing over the weekend, the types of car's that have these and the people, I have narrowed it down to these and it annoys me even more because theya re the folks who cannot drive to say their mums life:

    Ill get shot for this but who cares (not in any particular order):
    - Under 21's in small wannabe hot hatch's;
    - European/Middle-Far East drivers;
    - Mid-life crisis bloke;
    - OH AN THE DRL's are now accompanied by horrid little chrome stick on's, about 2 inch long!

    MAKEs ME SCREAM!!!!

    I've got DRL's on the Fiat 500, but at least they are not LED...

    I find LEDs painful to deal with at night. I'm a little bit sensitive to the frequency of light and LED seem to be the worst, along with HIDS.

    Dont mind them, but why so bright???

    Have you seen the headlights on the new range rover

    Whats that all about?

    As people above had said, all new cars have to have them now so it will become less chavvy I believe.

    That Range Rover's light unit looks very tasty. Angel eye rings as DRLs looks quite smart.

    i do however believe that they should not be integrated to older cars and they should be incorporated into the design of new cars , and i cant stand the chavs with them on there little tin cans .

    i will also never be fitting them to the vec , if it gets moderatly cloudy i pop on the sidelights which are white light not dull yellow as standard , and if it gets very cloudy then headlights go on

    I dunno, if they made a headlight available that had a ring of LED's around say the full beam housing that was set as DRLs I wouldn't hesitate, as long as it looked OEM and was the same white as MTEC 501s.
