    Default op-com limits

    Hi all.
I put my op-com on my 58 cdti150 just to look at a few things as its drinking fuel, last check it was 32.8mpg and i checked the special functions and the EDC 16 correction cylinder quantity deviation and this was the results. 1st test
    cylinder 1 0.09
    cylinder 2 0.06
    cylinder 3 -0.31
    cylinder 4 0.14

    2nd test
    cylinder 1 0.22
    cylinder 2 0.20
    cylinder 3 -0.73
    cylinder 4 0.30

I think there may be a problem with number 3 cylinder or injector and was wondering if anyone can shed any light on these limits.

    many thanks

think the tolerance for these is -0.65 to 0.65 if I'm right anything outside this range of correction points to a fubered injector somewhere

I don't have a CDTI so I'm not that familiar with them, but isn't there a fix for a problem with the 3rd injector on some CDTi engines - to do with the electrical wiring to the injector getting too hot or something. There's a kit with some replacement wiring and connectors. Might be worth a search...

My car is still under warranty but the ***** at vauxhall says that 32 -38 mpg is really good for a 150cdti. PISH I said !! The fitters there don't seem to want to touch anything unless it shows up on tech2. They are fitters and not mechanics as it seems they need to be lead all the way !!! I was a trained mechanic a few years ago and some of these boys really havn't a clue how to check cars unless they have a computer which is sad really.

in winter stop/start short journeys mine will fall to around 35-36, normal driving, but rises vastly in warmer months on the same journeys, longer journeys give much better mpg.

You have a faulty thermostat it should not fall to anywhere near that.

I think maybe there's a mix-up here between MPG and temperature in degrees C ???

Anyway, perhaps ask your dealer about the 3rd injector repair kit and whether your car might need it, and whether it might be related to the issue you are seeing.
