Default The vectra is gone, what now!!

After a lot of interest in the vectra i finally did a p/x deal with another car. I got £2000 and a Y reg 1.6 zetec focus with full service history and only 67000 miles on the clock.

Now the big question is, what to buy next. The focus will be getting put up for sale today and i am hoping for around £1500- £1600 for it so that will leave me with around 5k to spend on a car.

Ive been looking at a few astra sri turbos but that would cut my budget down as if i get a car that is quite expensive on the insurance then i will have to pay that off in 1 lump sum which is £1300. So then that would only leave me with £3700, or the other option is to be sensible and go for a diesel.

I have another friend who also wants me to get out of the vauxhall scene and go jap, he thinks i should get a 200sx s14a and be completely different.
Do you think i got a good deal on the vectra?
And what should i get for my next car?

    This is the vec

Hmm jap cars are good when they work i had a supra before the vec and loved it to bits was without a doubt the best car i have had so far but it was expensive to keep in tip top condition and dont get me started on how much feul itused! As for the s14 they are nice cars but good ones are hard to find as they mostly been thrashed to bits and used for driffting my brother in law had one and the amount it cost him in repairs was fearsome it was off the road more than it was on it.At the end of the day its your cash so buy what you want one things for sure an s14 will be a hell of alot more fun than a diesel veccy .

Yeh my mate uses his for drifting, its running 300bhp and weighs about a tonne lol. I just fancy something a bit quicker, ive test drove a couple of vxr astras but i dont want to get finance and want something around 250-300bhp.
An sri turbo astra is an option but supposedly the let's aint the most reliable engines in the world.
The quickest car ive had is the vec and that was only a 2.2 petrol, just fancy a bit more poke
