    Default Boot light

I have a 56 reg 1.8 Vectra SRi and have just noticed there is no light in the boot. Has anyone got around this problem with a simple solution?

Is the lense there on the left hand side facing in towards the seats?

No, there doesn't appear to be any lamp housing at all, unless I'm being simple

it should be on the left, but on the boot "wall" your looking in from, just inside the N/S rear light if that makes sense (you'll see it if get your head in to change bulbs on rear lights)...

My mates life model has one so i guess they all do...

If yours is there, just not working pop off the lense and see if the wires are connected - chances are there not...

If their there connect them, make sure its right way round as one way it keeps on permanantly, other way turns off when boot closes... to check this shut boot and look through the rear arm rest panel... its probably been disconnected if stayed on before as pre owners prob thought it was a fault...

Failing that, a 3ft - 36 inch neon tube (or under car kit front or rear tube) fits perfectly screwed to the parcel shelf hinge brackets. i plan to do this soon as the standard lights rubbish anyway obviously just connect to your existing wires...

alot of car dealers disconnect them for when they are sat on the forecourt with the boot open aswell.

i got a 12v strip light and screwed it into the back of the seat with small screws, (cant see the holes when removed) wired it into the oem wiring so only comes on when the boot is open, works a treat and lights up the boot really well

I don't know why they do this as after approx 5 mins it turns itself off anyway.
