    Default Gsi with Lpg conversion

Still looking to change my Veccy.
Anyone know of the + and - of owning a Gsi with the Lpg conversion
Does the car still perform like it should?

Will not be quite as quick, long repayment time, cheap motoring. All i can think of at the min.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Depends what system has been fitted, genuine factory fit systems are ok but not brilliant and aftermarket systems ive heard and seen a few horror stories, melted pistons etc. I run a 3.2 and they are not as bad as everyone makes out, depends how you drive it. Id never in a million years convert mine to lpg, but thats my personal opinion, and i work and repair lpg systems at my dealership, but its up to you.
My saying is if you cant afford to run a big petrol engine then dont own one.........

It's not a conversion I would pay for myself, and you will loose some performance and some mpg. About 10% on both.

But, I have a Transit van for my business with a factory lpg conversion, and I'll tell you, there's absolutely no better feeling than going into the petrol garage, filling up, and getting change out of a £20.

I'm on my second LPG - the 2.2 Vectra B and now the 2.8 V6 T. Neither had any problems.

If you're anywhere near Ripley / Derby I can recommend a great garage for fitting. Knows exactly what he's doing.

Comments about 10% drop in mpg are spot on but with fuel at 50% down that's not a problem

Bought my vectra already converted so no fitting costs. No problems so far and I've had it nearly three years. As far as performance is concerned you can always switch it to petrol when the urge arises.
