    Default Traction Control Switch

    Hi Guys

I read in the mod section that if there's a blue plug under the cover where the T/C switch should be then it may actually be connected.

STUPID QUESTION - without actually going out and buying a switch and plugging it in - how can I check???

    Veccy is 04 plate 1.8SRI

    Thanking you all in anticipation

That's the only way you can check I'm afraid - go out and get a switch and plug it in. There are guys that have the blue plug and the switch has worked for them, but not for others. The year/spec of the car doesn't make a difference as it's worked for one owner and not the other of the same year and spec!

Obviously if there's no blue plug then it's a non-starter.

Phil, like me you have the 1.8, traction control not applicable for this engine.
I posted about this before as I have the blue plug too.

Ah, hadn't realised you had the 1.8! In which case, as Ian has said, even if there is a blue plug, deffo no TC on a 1.8.

The switch is only a tenner, fills a blank and does light up with the other switches.....some might think it's worth it for that alone!!!

That was my main reason for fitting it, fills a blank .. works on mne as well, though never found the need to switch off the tc to be honest, it`s pretty **** anyway and the car still spins with tc ...

I'm actually quicker with TC turned off. Last thing you want is it to cut your power half way round a corner...

I have to agree....Tc is a good thing but some times you think...why in hell there´s a computer in my car cutting off my power!....that´s a job for the right foot!....
My car doesn´t have a switch to turn it off....this weekend I´m gona take the cover under the alarm switch to see if mine has this blue plug...if not I´m gonna try it with out the Tc fuse to see how the cars feels with out it.

The fuse that controls TC is also the ABS fuse, it's all part of the same system the Vectra, so if you pull the fuse you will lose ABS as well, not a good idea on the road mate.
