long story short..

one of my younger brother's borrowed the astra estate to go to watford on boxing to watch the footy...got there ok, heading back car looses power and engine cut's out, managed to restart it and travel another 5 - 6 miles....called the AA and they come out put comp on it ''fuel pump ECU''faulty......

spoke to dealer's on re-open day and they said get the car here so we can have a look at it, called the AA and 20 mins later they were here car on dolly and on way, got there and explained that i dont need to spend any money on it and they gave me the impression that i will poss be ok and not to worry as they will do there best to sort it out for me...told them no rush for it keep as long as ness,

i spoke to the dealer's early in the new year and it's not good...the AA say the car is not on cover with the multi car policy i have ??? so they wont ok the repair's...
on another note, the ecu has been prev repaired so not certain if another repair can be made, things just get better and better

right, the AA got a ticking off that they deserved and after sending a copy of my log book to them via fax the part was ordered and is as of yesterday morning waiting in the part's dept to be fitted.....so finger's crossed i will have the car back friday at the latest, not 100% certain on how much it is going to cost me on top of the warranty but again finger's crossed not too much...

got the call my car is ready.......total bill for work is £826.00

i just need to pay £351.00 for it, AA cover first £500.00 less £25.00 excess so to say i am gob smacked is just not enough...

Its absolutely crazy nowadays what it costs for repairs. The average man on the street hasn't got that sort of cash laying around spare, Mr Brown and his cronies have seen to that

tbh the astra cost me 2k to buy i have fitted a few thing's to it (new spring's 4 tyres etc etc) so it stand's me at a pretty penny now, and what with this cost i have now decided to keep it and send the zaffy back while i can as i just cant justify running 3 car's, if i was to sell the astra i would make a huge loss on it and i cant do that
