    Default need some stuff

    Hi,
I thought if i speak to you guys, then youd know what youre talking about. I have a squeaky/slightly rattling rear and the last 2 MOTs have advised rear upper control arms. I am thinking these are the problems. I have a 2004 vectra hatch 1.9 cdti 150bhp sri.
Also i have that horrible crunch from the front when going over speed-bumps, i think its the arb bushes is that right?
And i would like a traction control switch!

Where shall i look for the best price. any links. obviously ebay but are the parts good. or part numbers?

Any help will be very useful

    cheers n gone

    Engine : 2.0 CDTI (160ps)

I ordered front and rear ARB bushes and front drop links from my local Vauxhall dealer this morning funnily enough.

I know the guys down there so they give me trade club prices, but as a guide, I was quoted...

    Front drop links: £11.69 each

    Front ARB bushes: £1.53 each

    Rear ARB bushes: £2.80 each

However they then quoted me £56 each for the rear upper control arms which anyone can get for £36 each from Euro Car Parts ( http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/Car-Parts ) so I'm ordering those on line.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello

    Rear knocking:

Depends on the type of knocking, if MOT said rear upper control arms then it's most likely that however, it could also be:

    - Rear ARB bushes
    - Parcel shelf rubbers
    - Boot lid catch

    Front Crunch:

By the sounds of this, if it is a crunch it could be:

    - Front drop links (most likely)
    - Front ARB bushes
    - Broken spring (you'd notice this, car would be all over the place)
    - Top radiator mounts

    TC switch:

Pop into your local Vauxhall parts section and ask for the TC switch, it's most likely the cheapest place you'll find it (about £10 ish)

    Hope this all helps

    ha.
I phoned eurocar parts for the upper control arms and they quoted me £30 something. However when i gave them my plate it came up with the 3litre V6 vec not my 1.9. Are the parts the same. Does anyone have the vauxhall part number for it so they can cross reference, because the nice men at vauxhall refused to give it to me unless i bougt the part.
    thanks

My springs were not only broke, they were missing completely apart from a 3" piece of spring left in the spring holder cups on both sides of the car, and cars handling never felt any different, so dont dismiss checking the springs regardless of how the car feels
