    Default no blowers/heaters 3.2 gsi

Evening/morning chaps, the climate control in me vec, has given up the ghost. Over the past few days it would work after awhile, but now has stopped altogether , apart from a quiet whirring noise. Any ideas would be most welcome, and the more info the better, as I am a mechanical/electrical "retard"! Thanks.

I am in the same "cold" boat - did you get anywhere with this?

I would guess the blower motor has gone - as I say, a guess, but seems logical and I believe it is located behind the glove box.

I think the resistors are also a common fault but tend to hear that it means you lose 'speeds' rather than the thing all together?

Sorry for the rubbish answer but may be a start! Someone else on here i'm sure would know so here's a free bump

I have the dual zone climate control module, does this make any difference or shall I still take a look behind the glove box and hope that something really obvious jumps out at me?

Climate control has a different type of controller on the fan. There are a few threads about faults on them, they ain't cheap to replace....

Well as if by magic the heater was working again this morning... hopefully it was a blip and I can forget about it. Or its on its way out and just teasing me. I am worried I will have to sell this car as I have already had to sort out an angle sensor costing £300 in November and now this. Also I have just been quoted best part of £600 for a Cambelt change/service and MOT

Ouch on the service and cambelt change! I do the servicing on mine myself, once you've done it a few times, it's really not that bad and saves a lot of money - just nuts and bolts really. (yet to the spark plugs though - will take some time from what I read!)

Wouldn't attempt a cambelt change though but phone around, the garage I use in Northampton are very reasonable for most things.

Which garage is it? I'm in MK so not far away. Just been out and cleared the drainage hole by the pollen filter. Water has been getting into my heater system. Should not happen again and the heaters appear to be working OK now. But I am worried there is water in the system eating away at the components as I type.

What do you reckon? Will running the heaters for an hour or so on full heat dry the system up or do you think I should take everything apart and dry everything myself?
