Default the joys of being forces

as is required for my trade in the RAF, i need to have a B+E license to transport equipment, etc to my bay to work on.

so have today put in the paperwork & will be going on the course in the next few weeks......for NOTHING!! paid for by the RAF. how much its worth i dont know but regardless you cant complain at getting it for nothing! haha

quite pleased with that as it will come in handy for me later on, transporting the fiesta to events rather than driving it.

any other advantages we have feel free to add to the thread all you forces personnel as im interested to know myself

Don't you also get vaux discount if your in the forces off a new car? I'm sure I've seen it on the 'discount board' thingy outside the parts and service desk at my local vaux dealer.D

RAF paid for all my C+E training plus ADR(Hazchem) all classes apart from Nuclear.

On my days off often worked for a company delivering house heating oil, nice little earner as only worked when I wanted too and saved them a fortune in agency driver fee's.

    Also full Motorbike license.

All for a posting that lasted 18 months.

I got my HGV Class one in the Army when the first Gulf war was on. Was talking to the MTO one day and I said I was bored shirtless on rear party, so he said, let me see if I can't find you something to do. 1 week later, off I went to do my class 1 lol

My daughters boyfriend has just joined the RAF and they (all 3 forces) apparently get 20% off a new car at Ford

Up to 25% depending on model and trim etc... That's off list price though, but useful for buying somethign small like a Corsa etc...
