Snow falling off roof dented bonnet!

Hi guys,

I wonder if some of the experts on here can give me a little help on removing two dents on the bonnet? I've only had the car four weeks and parked it a bit too close to work and a load of snow fell of the roof crushing my car and the back window wiper which now needs to be repaired too.

I'm pretty certain the snow caused the bonnet dents (pic below). So what can I do? I've considered taking off the inner lining and pushing with my hand or gently tapping with a mallet? Is this the best course of action? I don't want my new car to end like that scene from Father Ted where he tries to knock out a dent and ruins the whole thing.

Something I have tried in the past and worked for me, but this was on a Shed aka my old Cavalier.

I had a similar issue where some kids decided to sit on the bonnet and created a larg dent.

I removed the inner lining as you said and got a pillow or cushion, either/or, just make sure it covers the area of the dent, and seimply gently push the dent out with the palm of your hands.

Someone told me to use a pillow or cushion as this spreads the pressue over the whole area, so not causing a crease when pushing it out with a bare hand.

As your motor is quite new, I too would be quite reluctant to try anything but if all else fails, try it? its dented anyway so what you got to lose. But im sure someone else will be along shortly with other suggestions!

Thanks mate I'll give that a go tomorrow. I did try removing the lining partially (before the darkness settled in) only to find access is limited because of the strengthening struts. Would a dent puller be any better?

get dent devils or similar in and ask work to pay.

be careful as the bonnets is aluminium. once its been hit into a shap its hard to get back. on a new car id get a profesional do it. i let one do mine and now you cant see the dent was a brilliant job and only £60 so not that expensive really

agreed if you dont know what your doing with a panel you could end up making it a lot worse and "unrecoverable" without professional help and a greater expense..

best advice as above either a smart repair or dent removal team similar to dent devils etc around £50 rather than a bodyshop repair £250
