Any recommendations before buying? What to look for, or listen for? Other than than the Fuel Pump, what else spoils the engine? Cheers!

Had over 35k out of mine, were on there when I bought it, were on there when I sold it.

Hesitation in 6th when accelerating from 35-40mph, could be the SCV's.

DMFs and DPF's if it has one.

    Look for usual Signum failings:

    Rear shocks
    Springs for breakage

As Big Sig said check there is no hesitation, could point to SCVs or poor fuel filter. Is it faceliftr? I thought they fixed the SCV problem on the facelifts with engine and software updates.
Check theres not too much black smoke when hoofing it. Obviously definitely no blue at all.
Check the oil 5 mins after you have stopped the engine so the oil can drain down properly. I did it a minute or two after turning off engine and nearly had heart failure!

Brakes last a fair while depending on how used, im on my second set of disks all round at 70k miles, fronts still good but need new pads, rears excellent.
My front wheel bearing is whining too so will need replacement.
Got an airbag light on at the moment will get this done with the bearing.
Had to replace air con compressor.

I wouldn't box a car in a million years. How is a magic box supposed to do you any good...it's just a cheating device. You're far better off with a full remap.
