    Default Abs & tc

So, in the snow this morning I got a mile from the house all well and good, but looking down at the dash my ABS and TC lights were permanently on! I "checked" and yes they both weren't working (love the snow )

An hour later whilst stuck in gridlock traffic I turned the ignition off for a few seconds and restarted the car, the lights came on again for longer than the usual checks but then went out, ABS and TC restored.

My question is, and sorry to the non-technical speaking people; WHAT was all that about???

I had it when I had over used the TC in the snow..... both lights came on and it wasn't working, and I had the 'F' in the display too.... but a ignition off and then back on (after a few secs) brought everything back to life, and has been fine since.

It happens if you continually use the TC i.e. wheel spinning which is very easy in the snow and so it goes into shutdown mode and switches off as it thinks you are telling it that it is not needed, switching off the ignition resets all of the systems.

Yeah I had this this morning too, after trying to get up a tiny hill that was ridiculously slippy! No worries.
