    Default Ahh Smugmode!

I've been getting increasingly irrate with how some people are driving in this current weather.
It seems that either having 4 wheel drive or a yellow strobe light gives you a license to drive too fast and overtake on (unbroken line) chevons or generally ignore the highway code more than you normally do and then there are the idiots who drive with no lights on or just totally ignore the road conditions anyway!

So I saw some git this morning overtaking down the dual track near Worcester in the fresh snow, he must have been touching 55-60mph as he flew past the rest of us in his knackered old puke coloured VW Golf with cheap aftermarket alloys and low profile tyres....

I remember thinking "what an idiot, I hope he crashes" (but not into anyone else).
I myself was having enough trouble keeping it in a straight line following the traffic at 20mph! If he'd lost it, he'd either take out a line of traffic or cross over to the other carriageway and have a head on!

Long story short..... There he was 10mins later at the side of the road with the hazards on and the bonnet open!

I couldn't resist popping the passengers window down, tooting the horn and giving him a round of applause as I drove past

    I feel strangely satisfied now

    hehe well done

Almost as satisfying as seeing a merc go past on the motorway at 120mph and then 10 miles later seeing them on the hard shoulder with a traffic cop behind them

Unlike the woman in front of me on a country road, driving a Toyota Land Cruiser at 15mph on a very lightly snow covered road this morning.

Like the old man driving his Agila yesterday morning doing 1mph, I kid you not, 1mph with his hazards on !!

It took 5 minutes to drive 500 yards to pick up my boss from his house, it took so long, I called him when I turned in to his road, he looked out the window, walked down stairs, got his shoes on, coat, lunch stuff, spare clothes , said good by to his kids, walked 50 yards up the road and I was still miles away from his house, the shouldn't be on the road like that,

They should stay off the road if they can't drive,

Took an hour to do a 20 min journey to work this morning. Traffic nose-to-tail down the A5 that was actually virtually clear - no ice or snow left in the main track and I drove with my tyres on the central dividing line to clear the slush still deposited there. At one point I could see about ¾mile in front (it is a Roman road!) and there was about ¼mile gap in the traffic. This turned out to be a woman in a red Mondeo unable to go faster than 20mph, depsite the road being OK and no-one in front for ¼mile.

It was still (very finely) snowing but there were plenty of people with no lights on at all and several with unnecessary fog lights on as well as those who had set out without fully clearing the snow off their windscreens/lights/numberplate.
