Default CDTi Servicing Costs - Avoid being shafted!

I had my 2nd year/18k 'major service' carried out yesterday on my Signum 1.9 CDTi-150. I phoned Vauxhall in Barnsley, South Yorks and was quoted £302!! After falling off my chair laughing, I reminding the service dept that it was a Vauxhall that I wanted servicing, not a Boeing-747. They dropped their price to £277. I then phoned around three or four other stealers and ended up getting the service carried out for £150 at Vauxhall in Wakefield, West Yorks. I could have had it done for £135 further north, but I would have lost the savings in fuel.

So, the moral of the story is simple. Don't let the tea-leaf dealers pull your pants down and roger you up the bum till it makes you squeal; phone round until you get the best deal. And if your not happy with the quote you've been given, ask to speak to your Service Manager - his name is Robbin Gitz

lol, ill bear this in mind when my 2nd comes round...

You would think that the prices would be standard, across all dealers.

i remember phoning round for servicing costs was quoted 250ish for a minor service, so i asked what they were charging an hour, they said 90 quid, i just laughed, two hours to do an oil and pollen filter change, she then said, oh but we do a lot checks, i went elsewhere and got it for £150, still seems a lot to me

100% accurate mate. I had my mates Cambelt kit done a few weeks ago for him. We started off at one dealer with a price of £325 +VAT, next one sat happily at £292 +VAT, another one amused me with £289 +VAT.

In the end I got it fitted for him for £250.00 INC VAT, and they even collected and dropped the car of AND washed it!!

    RESULT! RObbing !
