Help please burning oil ????????

Hi people i have a problem with my vauxhall zafira burning oil i have been told that a normal problem is the breather pipes may be blocked up with gunk but not sure what pipes to check ? Does any one have a diagram or point me in the right dirrection so i can check this first before i get a mechanic to start striping the engine and my pocket ... Cheers in advance i know this is a vectra c forum but im sure someone will know . Please get back to me asap mark.

You'd get a better response if you came in with my engine burns x litres of oil over xxx miles ...

before you get a mechanic to start striping the engine and your pocket a compression test might be useful
