2.2DTI Problem

I thought things were going too well , spanner light came on and car went into limp mode so i ran it to a mates to get the codes read and he reckons that the egr valve has had it.

Does anyone have a rough idea on the price of a egr valve including fitting

No - i never knew i could, is it hard to do

I just assumed that when i was told it was broke that i had to fit a new 1. The car runs fine when cold it just seemed to get the fault when the temperature gauge started rising, is that normal ?

no it's not bad just a bit fiddly.once you have removed the engine upper cover and the wiring connector'and two small coolant hoses there are only two bolt's to remove.you will need brake cleaner or carb cleaner and a small wire brush

Well i just got a nice shock - the person that sold me the car is footing the bill for a new egr valve to be fitted

I intend to jonny after seeing how much one of these egr valves cost , besides should come off easier after they replace it
