    Default Vectra C 2004 advice

    Hi everyone ,

    I have a vectra c '04 diesel 1.9 hatch
and i would like to change the shock absorbers.
What brand would you suggest i should go for?and do i have to change the springs also ?because i read in different posts that people who changed the shock absorbers only they had problems.
Could anyone please advice me on what to do?and roughly how much money the parts would cost me.

    Regards

    George A

Is your car an sri. The standard sri struts are 20mm shorter. On previous threads on the forum it has been said than you can stick 30mm lowering springs in without replacing the struts. Anything more than 30mm you will have to replace the struts.I drive a 03 dti and put lowering springs out of a written off 1.8 veccy c. dropped a good 60 mm as the dti is a heavier lump. put standard astra springs in the back to even the car out

This is what I did and you really can't beat it for the money.
Set of Bilstein B4's + Eibach springs

The standard shocks are rubbish, the standard springs rubbish, known for breaking and more expensive than aftermarket ones.
