    Angry ebay scammers

is there a way of stopping scammers or people using hacked accounts winning items on ebay, i have been trying to sell my iphone and 4 times it has been won by someone who then becomes "not a registered user" or "if i pay through bank transfer will you ship to nigeria or the latest someone emailed me to say they had there account hacked and didnt bid on a iphone.
its really stressing me out especially as ebay are no help.

the only way I would imagine would be to try and spot them and remove their bids manually. Doesn't help if they bid snipe though.

I sold my iPhone no probs on ebay.
I put the advert in very strong terms, i.e
SCAMMERS WILL BE REPORTED TO EBAY AND NEGATIVE FEEDBACK LEFT
NO, I WILL NOT SHIP TO NIGERIA
NO, I WILL NOT SHIP TO YOUR COUSIN
PAYPAL ONLY, NO OTHER PAYMENT METHOD ACCEPTED
BIDS ONLY FROM BUYERS WITH FEEDBACK GREATER THAN x
    DODGY BIDS WILL BE REMOVED

    etc
    etc.

I don't normally word my ebay ads so strongly, but I've heard so many bad stories about selling iPhones.
Even still, I had muppets emailing me asking stupid questions. I didn't reply to any.

As stated, you can also manually remove any suspect bids.

I had a nightmare with this a few years ago...

Tried to sell my old O2 XDA smartphone, within an hour of listing, someone agreed my "buy it now" price, then sent me a message saying he'd pay £50, but it needed shipping to Nigeria and I'd get a Western Union transfer.

I reported that the item was unsold and got the free re-listing. The bidder had their account removed.

2 days later I tried to sell it again and got exactly the same thing

This time I had to pay the listing fees and gave up trying to sell it... It's still in my spare room...

Hi i am a experianced ebay user with over 3000 feedback i would suggest you setup your buyer requirements to exclude international bids and other buyer requirements like having a credit card on file etc

definitely a good idea, I have this set on mine. Won't protect you from hijacked accounts though. One easy way to spot hijacked accounts is they haven't bought or sold anything for months and suddenly they are buying/selling something of high value such as an iPhone.
