In the hand book it says not to use bio fuel as this will damage the engine ie. fuel pump.

I have read in the past that these engines are not suitable to be run on fuel.

    What boidiesel do you mean?

Sorry to be pedantic, but 'biodiesel' covers a whole raft of mixes. From B5 all the way up to B100 - the number being the % of bio derived fuel and the rest is made up of normal mineral diesel.

The normal diesel at the pump (BS:EN590) can be up to 5% bio according to the specification. (this is set to increase to up to 10% in the next few years)

Having said this (little rant) I don't think the engine / fuel system has been approved by the manufacturer to be run on any bio mix above 5% (ie EN590), so I wouldn't do so.

Most fuel delivered is only 95% fuel and 5% bio as thats the legal amount that can be added before the customer needs informed. Yes this is going to change soon to 10%.

The spec says that it can be UP TO 5%, I don't think that most fuel is anywhere near this max limit.

Unlikely to have to buy a new pump even at 10% bio.
