CD70 Contrast

Hi, was paying about with the CD70 unit of a 58 plate SRI that I am probably going to buy, but can't seem to find the contrast adjustment on the settings screen, just options for day/night display - automatic or always day; always night. Can anyone point me in the right direction or does this unit not have a contrast setting?

As far as I'm aware there is no contrast setting, I can't find one on my unit anyway. I think you can adjust the contrast on the GID but not on the CID.

Hi thanks for that, whats the difference, what does GID and CID stand for, I'm not up to date with my TLA's!!!

No worries, GID is the Graphic Info Display which is just a mono (Black and White) display, CID is the Colour Info Display Which displays maps etc in full colour. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can change the contrast on the GID, I know you cannot on the CID, if you can then I haven't found out how to yet, and there's nothing in the manual about it either!

Great!! thanks for clearing that up, going to do the paperwork tomorrow really looking forward to getting it now (58 plate1.9cdti SRI).

The CID brightness (in 'always night' or 'auto' at night) can be adjusted with the dash brightness control. If the lights are on during the day, this needs to be at max in order to see the display properly (or change it to "always day")...
