The car/spanner light is not the service light. Been mentioned many many times before.

If it only comes on with a cold start and not when the engine is warm then it could indicate a glow plug fault, I had this so changed all 4 as a matter of course and all was well.

Should Vauxhall change the "spanner" warning light to a "get codes read" light?

For nearly two decades, Vauxhall and other big manufacturers have been using systems which store fault codes and put a warning light on - there are just so many possible faults (1,000's) that the old idea of changing parts because it cured the undiagnosed problem on Fred's car is totally ridiculous.

Right,.. I have been to garage had fault code read for same (or similar) Problem.

Fault read as low voltage to Glow Plugs. Hope that helps after my previous Error.
