Default Can I Claim if needed

As above can I claim on my insurance if needed? I was turning at approx 5mph at the top of a hill to go back down the other side, when the car decided it would skid into the approximately 8 inch high kerb.
The only damage I can see is I have scrapped my N/S front alloy and the back alloy clouted the kerb quite hard as well. I think I might have been lucky as cannot see any damage to the back alloy but the steering is slightly off so wondering if I have knocked the tracking out is there any other damage that could have been caused? The car goes in for an MOT tomorrow so will probably find out then.
I am just worried if the alloys would of cracked they don’t seem buckled as I have had the car up to 60mph and there is no wobble of any kind, so do you think I was lucky and got away without too much damage. The bang was not hard enough to set the side Airbags off lucky.
I would just like if there is more damage than just a scuffed alloy can I claim on my insurance?
I am fully comp with protected No claims any advice would be great.
    Thanks in advance

also protected no claims doesnt mean your premium will not go up next year. IE this year say £600 less 40 % no claims. Next year Oh you had protected no claims sir so its still 40 % off, just that your premium has gone up to £900.

best to take it to a garage and get them to do a inspection - you might have to pay but wolud be cheaper in the long run

if its a bottom arm or track rod bent cheaper to replace than pay insurance excess and an alloy wheel refurb £40 -50

imho its a no brainer as the insurance company would have your pants down and well - you can guess the rest

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven
