Default roundabout + ice = curb!

just smashed into a curb with my front passenger alloy, nicly scratched and a big chip taken out of it! Tyre and suspension survived ok as went straight to tyre garage for them to check balance and tracking. Just wanted to know if I buy a new alloy and use this scratched one as a spare will it fit in the boot instead of the space saver. (vectra c hatchback 1.9)

I've heard of people that have put a 19" snowflake in there before? Or was I dreaming that?
