asscessor came monday..and got call from salvage collection this morning lol..hadn't heard nowt off insurance

phoned insurance and they confirmed written off..******!
I told them the car is going nowhere untill they have made an offer which they were ok with.. now for the questions...
    the damage is..
    alloy/tire(£400)
    suspension arm(what ever its called)
door, wing and scratches to bumper/sill(easy repair)
    maybe steering rod?

asscessor est about £2600..ok i know these guys use new wings/doors etc but i could get it done for half that easy.. never claimed before so unsure of score.. can I get own quotes if i think theyre taking the p1$$?

im buy no means a expert in this field but when i crashed my bike they wrote it off and paid out for the bike they gave me the option to buy it back and i had it repaired for just under half what they quoted, i then sold it (for a tidy profit) and used the money to buy a better bike.
it might be worth asking some questions like how much your insurance will pay, how much to buy it back, and get some quotes for the work required at least then you will have a good idea as to the best course of action.

Tell them you want the salvage, agree a price for the car including you retaining the salvage, take the money repair car......easy

Only thing is the car will be recorded on V-Car as written off which will effect its re-sale value.

cheers guys.. i do want the car..theres nothing wrong with it..so to speak..day or so work for me to sort it..and nowhere near what they say it would cost...just wondering if i got a better quote (like half as much) if they'd repair it then or do they just go by what their people say?

Not sure, they will normally only repair with genuine new parts, you could always ask about using 2nd hand parts?

thing is theres a year or so finance left on it.. so would be in my interest for it not to be written off
and when they value it to pay out do they concider the mods(they're all listed on policy)
