Smile Why can't Vectra's be this cheap!

I've got this P reg cheapy run about Corsa, for whilst I was finding my Vec.

Discovered the 'stat was knackered (not good right now). Thought I'd replace that, easy job.

It's a 1.4, the 'stat is actually behind the cambelt cover, so drive belt, cambelt and cover need to come off. Even though it's a cheapy, I thought I'd price up the bits to do it properly, rather than remove replace existing.

    Cambelt > £7
    DriveBelt > £3
    Stat > £4 (including gasket)
    WaterPump > £14
    RockerCoverGasket (weeping slightly) > £2

    All from EuroCarParts!

Can't wait to get stuck in now and do it.

bear in mind that the corsa was 92/93 when it was first built so its going to be very simple stuff.
Newer cars everything seems to be expensive

The mechanic who looks after the wife's corsa, had a real fight when he changed the cam belt, apparently there is not alot of room with a 1.6 lump under the bonnet.

I took the airbox off this thing and could practically stand in the gap.

I may need to do the stat on my old gay Corsa as the heating doesn't feel as warm as it should be but far too stingy to spend on it yet
