    Default V6 CDTI reliability

Right folks bought my vec c froma dealers back in feb last year all was well thought 57k on a 55 plate facelift was high but i thought what the hec its a diesel they are reliable my mate had the astra 150CDTI astra let me drive it he got me from anti diesel cars to all for it,

4 months down the line the turbo smoked and squeled after a bit of a shoeing, vauxhall didnt want to do it under my netowrk q warranty but rob on the service desk was fighting for me to have it done, after taking it down 3 times (35mile round trip) they decided to replace it it cost £2600 to have it done but had it done under warranty thank fullly now last week looks like my DMF is on the way out now done 74k. what next this might not be covered under warranty and might have to fork out £700 to have it done, i dont have £700 im only 22, bought a new car for reliability and i might aswell have stuck with my proton satria GTI.

all i want to know is what else to expect?? thought diesels were reliable especially izuzu engines.

it was a choise of this vec or a astra GSI turbo sometimes wish i chose that but i chose the diesel for a bit of power and economy, its really getting me down

DMF's fail on all new cars that have them, just one of those things unfortunately.

I thought the warranty only covered you up to 60k miles?

    Not on a Network Q
The range of cover varies depending on what the mileage is when you purchase the car
As a 55 reg the OE warranty would have expired between the end of 2008 and beginning of 2009 (depending on date it was registered)
As the car had under 80K miles it would be covered to pretty much the same terms as the OE warranty (with some general exceptions)
However the turbo would have been covered as far as I can see from the documents
There is NO mileage limit on a Network Q warranty, it is simply a cover in units of 12 months
The maximum claim limit is the value paid for the car

74k is NOT high mileage. Not for a diesel or for a petrol!
The problems I've had with my 3.0...Injectors, EGR, Fuel pump (although not needed replacement), now the turbo,...

i'm really at my witts end car going in monday weather permitting, hoprfully is covered under warranty if not will be probably be swapping for the astra GSI. yeah network q is covered until 21 feb this year. seems to me that the old diesels are more reliable, dads mondeo TD ex taxi 310,000 miles no prob apart from consumables and a couple of head gaskets, dads audi 80 TDI 270,000 miles nothing wrong with them. all this new shizz on cars is costly, im only 22 cant afford big repair bills and the car is on loan sorry if it seems im having a moan but this really is stressing me out

As said, mileage is fairly low really. I bought an 07 plate 3.0 Signum in October last year with 82K on it - now 88K...

if its good reliability and low costs you wanted out of a diesel these newer type vx cars are not a wise choice, Ive had loads of diesels all high mileage mostly vx and they have been 100% reliable but the cdti was my first new diesel and most unreliable and expensive to repair.

I had a fuel pump issue with my V6 but it could have been down to the re-map.
