    Default windows opening by themselves

I noticed a similar thread but thought it was worth starting one afresh. I have a vectra bought new with reg 07. For the first two years of its life the windows were perfectly behaved.

Then I guess a little after the two year service i had the windows opening themselves mysteriously phenomenom. Initially i thought it nay have been an accident with the key fob...but it has now happened a further 5 or 6 times...always with the windows fully open (never partially) and always outside my house....the last two times the car had been parked for a day and two days respectively with windows shut and having not been driven..only for the windows to be opened by themselves on the following mornings.

I have taken the car to the dealer now twice, no faults have been found and vauxhall seem none the wiser to it.

The fact that you need to keep the fob pressed for around 8 to 9 seconds to get the windows fully down, and that there has never been an instance where the windows are parially open leads me to the conclusion that it is not my fat arse or clumsy fingers that are to blame.

I can only imagine that somehow an outside signal is responsible..well this is my conclusion..any other input would be welcome

    Thanks

    Neil

did you try lifting the windows and keeping the button pressed for 3 secs after they are fully closed to calibrate the sensors?

I think something like this needs to be done so I can rememeber. I make a habit of checking the windows by pushing the 'up' button for a few seconds.

thanks for the replies......the fact that it seems to happen a fair while after ive used the car suggests that it is somehow gettting a signal to open the windows..im sure the windows are calibrated properly as the fob allows me to close the windows....if vauxhall know what the problem is they are not letting on to me

you can check that they are calibrated. If they open fully and close fully by pressing the buttons on the doors for 1 sec, then they are calibrated. if not you need to calibrate them as I said earlyer. it's worth checking I think
