    Default Roof Mounted Monitor

As above looking for some tips etc from anyone who has fitted a flip down roof mounted monitor or dvd player. Just received mine and looks easy enough but basically looking for info on things like lowering the headlining , where to mount the base and routing the av cables , powering up the 12v supply etc. Any info appreciated

There's a how 2 for the factory fit one that Mav did HERE I fitted just an aftermarket flip down monitor, I routed the power to the boot fuse box down the C pillar and the RCA's down the A pillar.

How did your fix to the headlining buddy and did you need to cut it at all. Was thinking of removing my rear interior light for access for the wiring as the monitor has built in lights anyway

Dave most of them need the headlining to be cut out then a mounting bracket goes up to the roof with sticky tape then the monitor screws to that and finishes off the edges

There was a plate that you put on top of the headlining, you then put the monitor on the other side and sandwiched the headlining in between the plate and the monitor. I had to put 5 holes in the headlining, 4 for the screw and 1 for the RCA's. I had to pull the headlining down for access and to make sure it didn't go anywhere near the roof Brace/role bar type thing, I only dropped it one side, so had to take grab handles, AB&C pillar plastic trims off and then just ease it down.

First of all i put the unit to the roof lining and got a pen and marked where the screws were going to go then I dropped the lining down from the passenger side, removed the sunglass holder and slid my arm in from there to have the backing plate inserted,

Dont worry about the creases, these have disappeared

Got the Mrs to hold the unit up on the roof and force the screws thrrough the holes i made, then lined up using touch / feel

Cables ran along the lining to the passenger side and then down the door pillar , down to fuse box

Prob not making sense but it worked for me

Think thats how mine's fixes buddy , does the headlining not sag with the weight of the unit . And is it sturdy enough when pulling down the screen. PS mines is a 10.4" screen model , also rather thin as thats what made me buy it.
