Global Warming / Climate change, whatever they want to call it, it's the biggest hoax ever. We (the human race) contribute just 2% a year to the total greenhouse gases, the rest comes from natural sources like Volcano's.

The planet is millions of years old and we think we can make such a huge change in what... a few thousand years? or in reality only a couple of hundred years if you want to go back to when we started producing these gases in any volume....... The industrial revolution.

Then... look at the yearly average temperatures, 1998 was the hottest year in the last 50 years and it's been getting cooler ever since!!
The whole thing is a farce!!

BTW if you see a piece of paper stuck to the rear window of your car........................................

I agree, it will take more than the last 100yrs to have a major effect on weather changes. One site recently said this winter is the coldest for over 25yrs, yes it has been cold, but nature has always been subject to changes year by year thats why they still cannot reliably forcast the weather. In reality these last couple of centuries are virtually nothing considering the world has been here millions of years.

However to me it does appear that we definately had more snow when I was younger especially in the forties and fifties. There will be hard and mild winters, its all part of the cycle, I occasionally look at old photographs my father took during the 1947 winter when I was only aged 5yrs, and the snow was heavily packed several inches thick on almost every high street for many months (barely any gritting those days unlike now).

We have a few quite elderly neighbours, and as the weather has prevented anyone getting out unless they have a 4x4 for a few days the wife is phoning them to see if there's any shopping they need such as milk etc.. while were out later. Looks like its going to be a milk run..lol

I had an interesting chat with a guy about global warming. He was saying the global warming was partially related to sun spot/sun flare activity which has high's and low's every 12-13 years. The other thing is, records don't go back far enough for them to be able to tell whether the "rise" in temperature is just a natural fluctuation or not.

Global warming is the same as terrorism & swine flu, just something else to keep us all in a state of fear. Others included:

- bird flu
- the next ice age is coming
- acid rain (whatever happened to that?)
- Russia nuking us
- mad cow disese
- etc etc...
