    Default The downside to HIDs

For every advantage gain, there's always a negative one.

Noticed tonight as I was scraping ice off the windscreen, the ice on the headlamp lenses wasn't melting from the heat of the bulbs like they did when I used to have halogen bulbs fitted. Had to scrape the ice off the lenses as well.

Also when I got home and pulled up to the garage door, the ice on there didn't melt with the radiating heat from the HID bulbs either. Flicked the lights onto high beam and shortly afterwards two round marks started to appear on the door.

Although the HID bulbs run very hot, they don't appear to emit any thermal energy.

Ney mind a, I think I can put up with that as I prefer to see where i'm going. Think of it as your part to minimise global warming.

It's not called "global warming" anymore.

Too many intelligent people stood up and said "hold on a minute, it's ****** freezing!! stop taxing us so heavily in the name of this so called global warming!!"

So now it's called "climate change".
