I use this product all year round
One coating lasts about 6 weeks
I prefer the larger 750ml bottle, only seem to be able to source it from Andrew Watts at £7 (TESCO sell the smaller 500ml bottle for £5)

yes, rain x not only repells rain but also helps keep the window defrosted. I've also found when I do have to scrape the windscreen, it makes it much easier to remove the frost.

As well as normal Rain X treatment, I got a bottle that you mix in as part of the dilution with your screen wash and it re-treats the windows whenever you squirt the screen wash, performed better than I expected too.

Nah I got it in Halfrauds- they'e got a 3 for 2 on winter products, bought 4 bottles of screen wash, a normal rain x and a rain x screen wash mixer.

Worked out as a brilliant deal and I think it's still on now. It was at the weekend at least when I popped in.

hmmmm.. I tried a simialr product a few weeks ago, as my 525 stupidly does not have a rear wiper obviously because its a saloon, still stupid IMO. It was Halfords own RainX product and thought it may help keep the rear window a little clearer so I applied it as per instructions to rear and side windows. (Not windscreen)
Supposedly the same product as RainX.

I dont know how the geniune product performs but I one bought was totally useless £7+ down the pan.

May try the proper RainX next time and see if thats any better, I saw no difference whatsoever with the Halfords version.

Don't know how it would perform on side windows but RainX is great on the windscreen.

The beads of water moving up the screen take a little getting used to but I can drive along a motorway at 70mph, even passing lorries with lots of spray and you could get away with intermittant wipers because you can still see through the screen with RainX on. top product. Put it on my Veccy and even the wife likes it on her car too.

I had used a cheap aldi type versionn of rainx and its worked fine, but i also use meg quick deatiler on all windows including the windscreen & it works a treat, frost soon srapes off, no probs & again reduces the amount of water sticking to the screen, just rolls straight off.
