HELP please !! how do you replace os curtain and seat airbags

Hi guys had a slight miss happ last night involving some ice and a kurb oops. i managed to set off the curtain and seat airbags drivers side . does any body know how to change these ?? i am a mercedes commercial mechanic so have no problem with getting my hands dirty any help would be fantastic .

hi roof airbag quite easy first you will need to remove headlining then the airbag is held by 4 or 5 small blots and 1 plug.

as for seat i would think you need to dismantle the seat and undo the bolt.

Possibly. I think it depends on the age of the car - early cars have an airbag ECU that can't be reset - it has to be replaced after airbag/seatbelt pre-tensioner activiation. Also, I don't think you can de/re-program the early ECU's so swap between cars either.

The ECU in later cars can be reset after activation but I'm not sure whether they can be moved between cards.

There's always airbag ECU reset services - if you trust your life to someone you find on somewhere like eBay.

I had the same thing happen to me last night comingbhome from work...i zoned out for a moment...car veered over and rear wheel knocked off roadside wall...had a wee dent in wheel arch but o/s curtain and drivers seat airbag deployed ffs...just round the corner from my house too...im so angry with myself....my car is an 08 1.9cdti btw...is this a straight forward replacement and fix?
