    Default Warranty concerns

Couldn`t see which section to post this is but just looking at my service book and it seems my network Q car had it`s first service at a Nissan garage in October.
Car was only 10mths old with 15K on the clock, not sure why they did it early but they`ve put Oct 2010 down as the date and more importantly they`ve recoreded the oil used as 10W-40 (manual says to use 0W-30 or 5W-30). It`s a CDTI 150.
Do you think this will affect the warranty in the future ??

Having the service done at another dealer won't effect your warranty, but if you have a problem resulting in the wrong oil being used then yes you could have an issue. Having it serviced early should not matter either, it may be part of the dealers policy to service the car before it goes out again.

Personally, I would dump the oil and have the correct 5/30 oil put in.

Thanks guys, I realise the Nissan garage isn`t a problem as obviously its a VAT reg`d. garage and the fact they`ve marked it as 2010 instead of 2009 can be backed up by the mileage just a bit worried that my local Vauxhall garage might get funny about warranty work on the engine.

Personally, consider that first service as void
Go back to the sales person and see about getting a service done at cost (£150 plus VAT) using GM-LL oil

Some people go to the same company they bought the car from, to find their nearest branch is not VX
This is quite acceptable, so long as the receipt shows "Car serviced to VX specification" and the parts are OEM
If in doubt, go to that Service Department and ask for a copy

Thanks guys, took it back to main dealer today who did a free oil service and stamped the additional oil change page.
