Default Is the Signum making a comeback!

I heard a little rumour form a contact today. Is the 'Signum' making a comeback.

Now that Audi have the A5 Sportback and BMW have launched the new 5 series GT, which is so like a Signum in it's layout, are Vauxhall/Opel about to do a lifestyle version of the Insignia to follow on from the Signum?

I doubt it would be called Signum though for the same reasons the Vectra name was dropped. But I would not be suprised if they call it Insignia Sporthatch.

I also reckon based on the info I was told, that as Vauxhall have delayed the twin turbo diesel until mid 2011 due to further power/torque developments, it could debut in the Insignia Sporthatch.

What do you reckon, god idea or bad idea? I for sure would wait for one if it came out.

The problem was Jeremy and co got a hold of one and ripped the p!"£ right out of it. So much so that when I bought mine all I got was " what a pile of poo Clarkson took the p$%^ right out of it.
The thing is it is actually a brilliant car. There is loads of room, very comfortable and the best bit is, there is no room in the back for the MOTHER IN LAW as the 2 kids need the seats and her bum won't fit i n the middle.

Don t think it was just cause of top gear and clarkson that the signum did nt do well .
I like the signum but at the end of the day its the same as the vectra with a different ar5e , so imho i dont think there was any need for it , so dont know why vauxhall would want to do the same with the insigna ...

You are probably right in what you say about Clarkson.

Although most parts are the same as the Vectra,is not quite the same. Don't get me wrong I am not saying one is better than the other, but the Siggy suits me fine for my needs,.

The thing is most people buy whatever car because the think it meets their requirements. My Siggy luckily for me more than does that (only me and the BEAST) but it is quit e handy when you can say sorry not enough room in the back. I know it is a personal thing but it is good to have the choice. I would rather have comfort and space.

The Signum sold well in Europe but not the UK. But now people are realising it's a good car.

But there were two reasons for it not doing better.

    1) Poor marketing campaign
    2) The Signum name.

If they called the new one Insignia, then it would be classed as another part of the Insignia range rather than a model in it's own right.

Just think how much better the Signum would have sold if it were called Vectra Sporthatch?

Yes for the reasons above. But it is now becoming a well sort after car.

I would love to see what they come up with. The Signum is a great car.
